In the lead up to the game going into manufacture, we sat down and worked out a patching strategy for FM2010.

There were 2 potential strategies, a 3 patch one, and a 2 patch one.

The 2 patch strategy involved a patch around Xmas time, that would lookat any issues raised between now and then, and a patch at the end ofFebruary/early March, which would include a data update.

The 3 patch strategy would be the same, but with a day one patch if aserious error, was found between the release of the demo and the gamebeing released.

Last night I was alerted to the fact that Stephen Carr doesn't appearin the Birmingham City squad. Having spoken to the research team thismorning, it has happened because Stephen Carr was widely reported tohave retired from football before coming out of retirement to joinBirmingham. Unfortunately, when this happened his retirement was stillset in the master database, and that overrode his Birmingham contractdetails.

Because of this issue, we have now decided that the 3 patch strategy is the best choice.

This patch won't just look at this issue, but also other issues thatare raised in the coming days off the back of the demo where possible,and some minor issues that have been raised by our beta testers. Asissues that are raised on the forums are fixed, we will update thisthread.

We will aim to release the patch at some point on October 30th,although we obviously cannot guarentee that at this stage, or give atime. I apologise in advance if it ends up slightly later than this, asI'm about to go away on a PR tour round Europe, so want be on theforums much to update about it.

As I hope you can all see from the demo, this is by far and away ourmost "polished" release to date, but we really are striving for theperfect game, hence our patch strategy change this afternoon - it wouldhave been quite easy for people to have made the Stephen Carr changethemselves using the data editor with the full game, but we don'tbelieve you should have to do that when it's our mistake.

Pe langa chestia cu Stephen Carr, in primul patch vor fi rezolvate si alte buguri minore sau majore semnalate de comunitatea Football Manager de pe forumurile Sports Interactive dupa lansarea demoului. Nu pot decat sa ma bucur ca jocul va avea deja un patch odata cu lansarea oficiala.

Precum orice soft serios, se lanseaza deodata 1.0 si 1.1, ca sa ai de unde alege. Instalezi intai 1.0, te iei cu mainile de cap, dupa care pui 1.1 si zici "moaaaa, ce au muncit astia la reparat de bug-uri". Vax.

Astept ziua cand o sa scoata Day One patch pentru ca l-au pus pe Costel Ilie scout la Poli Iasi, cand el e, de fapt, secund la Ceahlaul. Atunci o sa recunosc "da, dom'le, astora la pasa de fotbal".

Din ce am citit pe forumurile Sport Interactive, au o gramada de probleme de rezolvat cu match engine-ul, printre care cea mai suparatoare pare sa fie treaba legata de faptul ca atunci cand nu debifezi optiunea Show crowds din display settings meciul merge rau in 3D, cu aspect tremurat mai ales cand jucatorii iutesc jocul, asta intamplandu-se frecvent pe computere sau laptopuri cu anumite specificatii ce depasesc cu mult specificatiile minime recomandate pentru a juca jocul.

Insa nu vor recunoaste niciodata, de aceea au inventat un motiv pueril, un pretext mai slab nu se putea, ce imi aduce aminte de politicienii de pe malurile Dambovitei.

Mi se pare ca sunt cam multi jucatori de la 34-35 de ani in sus pe free care arata deosebit de bine (in general e si vorba de jucatori macar semi-cunoscuti) si ma intreb cati dintre ei sunt acolo doar fiindca au fost lasati sa pluteasca prin baza de date.

Aspectul asta a fost semnalat si de alti HR. Tin minte ca era o discutie pe tema asta legata de Italia unde in jur de 30% dintre jucatori sunt in situatia asta.
